Sun Off A Beach

Sunblock has always been a necessity for me, as I really enjoy basking out in the sun, lolz. Ever since this unfortunate incidence where I practically suffered sunburns all over my back during a trip to a nearby island (I was too busy having fun I didn't even noticed it until I saw myself in the mirror, lolz), I've been more careful and more motivated to always apply sunblock, even if I'm just going out for a quick run at the store.

Recently I'd discovered a new homegrown sunblock brand, Sun Off A Beach . According to their FB Page, Sun off A Beach products are formulated without :
· Parabens
· PABA
· Oil/Grease
· harmful Chemical Filters such as Avobenzone and Benzophenone

Sun Off A Beach offers different range of sunblocks, such as :
· Sun Off A Beach Kids
· Sun Off A Beach Anti Aging
· Sun Off A Beach Sensitive
· Sun Off A Beach Sports

Since I have sensitive skin, I choose the Sun Off A Beach Sensitive, which has a light blue (my fave, hehe) bottle.

Sun Off A Beach Sensitive (RM22.80)

This product also comes with a handy grip hook (climbing hook?)
Hmmm. Interesting....
So this is also perfect for those outdoorsy type who spends lots of time doing rock climbing.

Sun Off A Beach Sensitive sunblock is specially made with Vitamin E that gently cools, cleanses toxins and hydrates skin.

The product has the usual white colour and there is no distinctive scent upon applying.
It easily blends well and doesn't leave a white cast on the skin. Thought it may look kinda creamy and heavy in terms of texture, it's actually quite light and doesn't leave an oily slick feeling on my skin : )

So if you're into homegrown brands like me, do check out their website Sun Off A Beach, I couldn't help myself wanting to visit the nearby beach everytime I visit their website, hehehe.

This product can be purchased via online from Hishop

Dreamcatcher

Never would I have thought I'd be able to buy a Dreamcatcher here in Sabah, but I did, there's actually handmade flea stalls that sells unique kooky little things in Centre Point, Wisma Merdeka and probably other places here.

I'd bought mine in a handmade stall in Centre Point after painstakingly choosing one that would suits me. I ended up buying two, since I couldn't resist getting a tiny little Dreamcatcher keychain too, cause they look so adorable, lolz.

As usual I choose blue since it's my favourite colour besides black.

I then choose another Dreamcatcher which is slightly bigger, perfect for me to hang in my bed post, hehehe.

"Only good dreams would be allowed to filter through… Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day. Good dreams would pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper." - Konrad J. Kaweczynski "

As good as it sounds, I still suffers from the occasional nightmares, lolz. But nevertheless this is a really great unique item that you may gift to a friend. I am even contemplating on getting a custom made Dreamcatcher, one that would probably suits me more. Hmmmmm....

Earth Care Soaps

I was doing some web surfing when I accidentally stumbled upon Shoppertise, a place where you can do some browsing, shopping or selling. As usual, I was more interested in the shopping part, hehehe. One of the store that caught my eyes is a local brand that specializes in natural and organic handmade beauty products Earth Care Soaps (Shoppertise). A friend once gifted me with some of their handmade soaps so now I wanted to try their body scrub. All of their items were sold as sets, so I decided on getting a Happy Polish Set since I have always love using brown sugar as my DIY body scrub.

Samantha from Earth Care Soaps confirmed the order swiftly after payment but unfortunately had to replace the Warm Embrace body scrub as the item had been discontinued, so I requested for Wake Me Up body scrub instead since I am intrigued with the name, lolz.

So I wasn't really expecting the item to arrive so fast, since it was hand made, but it did, hehehe, I received it yesterday via Pos Laju. All the items were neatly bubbled wrapped and there's even a hand written note from Samantha : )

Wake Me Up Body Scrub (150g), Vanilla Sky Lip Scrub (12g), a cute little spatula and a sample of Calendula & Aloe Vera Soap (Thank you Samantha for the sample)

Vanilla Sky Lip Scrub is made up of Vanilla & Oatmeal (Organic Brown Sugar), perfect for those who suffers from dry flaky chapped skin.
I tried using this on my lips and was left with soft supple lips with zero flakiness, the texture of the scrub wasn't too rough on my lips either. The scent somehow reminds me of something from my childhood, but I couldn't quite place it, hmm.

Wake Me Up Body Scrub is made up of Citrus & Oatmeal (Pink Himalayan Sea Salt), a refreshing, invigorating body scrub that is perfect for waking you up in the morning, lolz.
I really love the scent of this, it smells just like a delectable dessert, probably due to the fact there's sweet orange, lemon, pink grapefruit Essential oils in it.
The texture of the body scrub wasn't too rough either, which is something I truly appreciate since I have sensitive skin that can easily gets irritated.

Calendula & Aloe Vera Soap is a mild and gentle body bar that is suitable for dry eczema skin. I decided to let my younger brother tried this since he has dry skin.

All Earth Care Soaps products are handmade from natural ingredients that are safe for our skin and the environment, free from chemicals / preservatives such as SLS, parabens, phthalates, petroleum and petroleum-based derivatives, tallow and lard, and alcohol. They are also against animal testing.

What I love about using natural/organic hand made products is because all the ingredients are something that we are familiar with, and none of those synthetic ingredients that has the potential to cause any allergic reaction.

So if you're interested do have a look at their website Earth Care Soaps or their FB Page , they even provide personalized gift sets for special occasions : )

Skinfood Black Sugar First Serum Gold Edition

Under the motto of 'good food for health is also good for the skin', SKINFOOD is the first food cosmetic brand developed with a differentiated unique concept of 'food'. Well with a unique brand name and motto such as that, how can I possibly resist? lol.

So when Skinfood Malaysia organized a Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold (Limited Edition) giveaway, I straight away joined it and luckily enough went on to win it, hehehe.

The Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold Edition Set contains:
1 X Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold Cotton Box
1 X Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold 120ml
1 X Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold (miniature 30ml)

The special cotton pad comes with 2 different surface, one with a netting surface to helps skin exfoliation and the other side is a smooth surface to facilitate better skincare absorption.

Here's what the Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold 120ml & miniature 30ml bottle looks like

The mini Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold is so adorable!

I really love the 10th Anniversary design on the lid, it actually looks like the lid of a wine bottle.

There's a plastic tab on the opening of the bottle so you don't really have to worry about overspilling it.

Apparently the difference between the previous Black Sugar Serum and this is the limited edition serum features pure gold to promote flawless skin with a luxurious glow. So you get these tiny flakes of gold when you pour it on your hand, but it easily dissolves when you rub it in. Always remember to shake the bottle before using, or else all the gold flakes will be stuck at the bottom, lol.

So does this Black Sugar Perfect First Serum really delivers as a high-performance first serum that combines exfoliating, brightening, wrinkle-smoothing, and hydrating benefits?

Well, I do noticed a smoother and glowing complexion after using it for 3 months, I no longer suffer from the occasional dry flaky skin around my nose region, it also works as an exfoliator as I noticed there's less whiteheads and blackheads on my skin. But best of all, I love the light non sticky texture, the natural brown sugar scent and the fact that it doesn't irritate my skin is definitely a big bonus : )
