Bag Of Love - DR.WU (Intensive Renewal Toner with Mandelic Acid & Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid)

Beauty box is quite famous nowadays but I never thought of subscribing one, mainly because I already have a lot of beauty samples back at home, hehehe. But when I accidentally stumbled upon Bag Of Love, I decided to subscribe the July/August bag, mainly because I was attracted at the bag, an organic cotton Levis bag which is originally meant to be a Bento bag. Since I'm in Sabah, the subscription cost me RM39.90 + RM8 (postage), which I think is a total bargain.

Here's what I got inside the bag :
1. Nano White Clarifying Cleansing Milk
2. O'slee Aqua Medi Refreshing Hydro Cream
3. Follow Me Sence Body Mist (Full Size)
4. TruDtox (1 Sacket)
5. DR.WU Intensive Renewal Toner with Mandelic Acid
DR.WU Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid
6. Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo/Conditioner/Treatment/Daily Repair
7. Bioderma Sensibio H20
8. Aveda, Make up For Ever,Plincco (Voucher)

Pheww...That's definitely way more than I'd expected. I was too busy oogling the Levis bag I didn't even bother with the contents when I first decided to subsribe it, lolz.

For this post, I'll be reviewing my fave items from the bag, which are DR.WU Intensive Renewal Toner with Mandelic Acid & DR.WU Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid.

But first let me show you how lovely this Levis bag is......

Yup.Definitely a Bento bag : )

Dr Wu is Taiwan's No.1 Clinical Skincare, but skin exfoliation is something that I have always been wary off mainly because I have sensitive skin and I'm not too fond of having flare ups due to chemical peeling.

But DR.WU (Intensive Renewal Toner with Mandelic Acid & Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid) is specially cater for those with sensitive skin. So I decided to go ahead and tried it.

From Dr Wu's Website, it stated Dr Wu Intensive Renewal Toner With Mandelic Acid is a revolutionary Derma-Cells Renewal Technology that can refine skin texture, diminish fine lines and improves skin elasticity and firmness. Its main active ingredient, Mandelic Acid, can effectively improve skin tone by resurfacing epidermis and removing aged layers. Formula also contains Tinocare GL, Oceagen and Biophytex, which can be easily absorbed by the skin to facilitate hydration, and reduce dark spots and freckles, therefore to make skin brighter and more clear.

The toner has a watery texture, it doesn't have any noticeable scent and surprisingly it doesn't irritate my skin.

Dr Wu Intensive Renewal Serum With Mandelic Acid 18% is a revolutionary home spa facial treatment using several patented technologies and ingredients to refine skin texture, diminish fine lines and improves skin elasticity and firmness. It contains Mandelic Acid 18%, which is used in Chemical Peeling procedures, to effectively diminish the appearance of fine lines and stimulate the skin desquamation process to achieve a smoother and brighter skin, even improves skin tone by resurfacing epidermis and removing aged layers. Formula also contains Sodium Hyaluronate, Tinocare GL and Biophytex which can be easily absorbed by the skin to facilitate hydration, and reduce dark spots and freckles, therefore to make skin brighter and more clear.

The 1st time I apply this on my skin, I wasn't too fond of it, the serum is a bit oily and has a chemical scent. It also came in a small bottle that looks a lot like my eardrops, complete with a dropper, lolz.

But fast forward to a few weeks later, I love how these 2 products transform my dull, blackheads and pigmentation infested skin into smooth, glowing skin. My lovely pigmentation on my upper cheeks became less noticeable and blackheads became lesser as I can easily squeeze them off the next morning after these the night before. The oily feeling after applying the serum on my skin disappear after using it for a while, so this serum might need some time for your skin to get used to. For the serum, I used it 3x times a week. For the toner, I used it daily but only at night before bed, since I'm a little worried about over exfoliating my skin.

If you have sensitive skin but is quite keen on trying out chemical peeling, do try these as they're quite mild and doesn't irritate the skin. For those who love trying out different brands of beauty product, do check out Bag Of Love, they're definitely affordable and comes in different bags bimonthly.

Kérastase Densifique

A few months back, I'd won this travel size Densifique set from Kérastase Malaysia. I'd always love Kérastase products, especially their ads, which always reminds me of Brigitte Bardot's 60s hairstyle. I have a deep adoration for 60s fashion, so naturally I love having 60s inspired hairstyle.

Last year I'd suffered a massive hair shedding which lasted for 6 months, partly due to the fact I'd lose weight too fast and then contracted dengue fever, which thankfully is a mild case. Back then, I was super stressed seeing the amount of hair I lose daily, I dread combing my hair especially during shower, I once got a little OCD and ended up counting my hair that was scattered all over the floor, the figure totals up to around 350, I nearly got a heart attack, lolz.

The hair shedding stop suddenly after 6 months, by then, I'd already lose 1/3 of my hair. Others don't noticed it, as I have naturally wavy and thick hair, but I noticed, lolz. It's been almost a year and thankfully my hair had started to grow thick again,  thanks to my new healthier diet and of course new haircare routine.

From Kerastase Official Website, the Kérastase Densifique Bain Densité (Bodifying shampoo) is a custom-designed cleanser for fiber that is losing density. Awakens dormant bulbs and supplies substance and tone. The hair is suppler, more resistant and denser.

I wash my hair 3-4 times a week, I tried not to overwash them as I have dry hair ends, due to the fact I can't stop dyeing them, lolz. The texture of this shampoo is quite light and liquidy, but it lathers quite well and I only need a small size of it. The first thing I noticed after twisting open the lid of the shampoo is the scent. Oh I love the smell of this, it smells so good, definitely not your typical floral fruity cherry blossom variety kind of scent, it smells a little like perfume, creamy-soapy perfume. This leaves my hair feeling clean, soft and smooth.

Kérastase Densifique Masque Densité, the delicate texture of this mask enables an immediate hair transformation as soon as it is applied by supplying smoothness and lightness to hair that is lacking density. The hair is regenerated from roots to ends.

When it comes to hair mask, I have problems choosing the perfect one for my hair as I have dry hair ends with oily scalp, hair mask that promises deep conditioning always end up making my scalp itchy and oily, so I always opt for lighter texture hair mask. I was glad when I open the lid of this mask and noticed how light the texture is, it's gel like and orange in colour, but most important of all it's not too creamy and definitely not oily. I left this on my hair for around 5 minutes before I rinse it off. Washing this off is quite easy as it doesn't left any oily silicone feel on my hair.

Overall I love these new range from Kérastase. It's light-weight and works in keeping my hair supple, healthier and definitely more voluminous. My hair shedding had stopped long before I started using this so I can't testify to that, but one thing that I do noticed is how these stop my hair from being itchy all the time. One thing I noticed during my hair shedding period is how itchy my hair was all the time, so if you're having itchy scalp along with hair shedding, these might be the perfect hair range for you.

Ollie Jewellery - Pearl Bracelet with Rocking Horse In Black

A few months back, A Shopaholics Den collaborated with Ollie Jewellery for an October giveaway. The giveaway lasted for 4 weeks and luckily enough, I was one of their chosen winner. The giveaway that I won was a beautiful Pearl Bracelet with Rocking Horse In Black.

From their official website, it is stated that Ollie Jewellery is an online sterling silver jewellery store that is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was born in 2012. The idea is to make exclusive jewellery designs affordable to everyone in Malaysia. All of their jewellery are made of .925 sterling silver. And most important of all, their jewellery are all nickel free,  a blessing for jewellery lover who have sensitive skin like me.

The prices that they offer are definitely affordable and I love the fact that they're all personally handmade.

Last friday, a small parcel arrived and I immediately knew it was from Ollie Jewellery. lolz.

Inside the neatly wrapped package is the Pearl Bracelet with Rocking Horse In Black.

This pretty elegant looking bracelet is priced at an affordable RM30

I was amazed with the craftsmenship of this bracelet, I love how the Rocking Horse Charm lends an elegant feel on the bracelet. The pearls on the bracelet are made of 10mm black faux pearl, there is no clasp attached as this are elastic for easy slide on the wrist. The bracelet is made to be stretchable but you could always request for a different base length, just send them an e-mail at info@olliejewellery.com to check for availability.

Nani from Ollie Jewellery also included a card which list down some jewellery care tips. Handmade jewellery are definitely more delicate than mass-manufactured jewellery, so extra measures are needed in caring them.

This is how it looks on my wrist, I deliberately placed the Rocking Horse Charm upwards just to show how it looks like from my camera angle, but I won't be wearing it that way, as I usually let the charm dangles from the bottom of my wrist.

There's also a sweet little note from Nani  : )

Thank you so much Nani for this lovely gift and yes I really do love your handmade bracelet!

For those who love handmade jewellery as much as I do, do visit  Ollie Jewellery or Facebook (Simply Silver Jewellery) as they're having 30% off store wide this holiday season : )

Elianto Online Shopping - Nail Colour

Lately, there's been a lot of Christmas sale going on, one of them being Elianto. I have always been a fan of their nail polish, as they offer lots of different shades. Their prices are quite cheap too and even if you decided to get 10 different nail polish, it will not leave a huge dent in your pocket, lolz.

It was during the 1212 sale that I decided to get 3 different shades of nail polish (even though I already have lots of nail polish) and since Elianto offers free shipping during this sale period, the only thing I need to pay for are the 3 nail polish, which is super cheap considering they're on sale.

Online shopping at Elianto is quite easy, an order confirmation e-mail was sent immediately after the payment was done. As usual, I choose online banking as my payment method. Delivery is to be expected between 5-7 working days. I'd done my order on friday afternoon and received my package on wednesday.

Elianto takes their packaging seriously as my 3 nail polish were packed inside this little box, complete with a foam sponge, for better protection against damage.

Inside the box is my nail polishes neatly wrapped in bubble wraps. Oh I love bubble wraps, popping them is my source of my entertainment when I'm bored. lolz.

So here's what I got,
Left : Nail Color 44 Luxe
Middle : Nail Color 48 Tiffany
Right : FW Nail Color 09

Elianto has many products that are made in different countries but these nail polish are made in korea.

Nail Color 44 Luxe - RM4.80 (Usual Price : RM8)
I love this colour, it's a pretty shade of Lilac / Lavendar hue, I actually thought it would look a little too pale on my tanned skin, but surprisingly it turns out really nice, not too bright and not too pale, the perfect pastel nail colour that I

Nail Color 48 Tiffany  RM4.80 (Usual Price : RM8)
The mermaid hue, Turquoise has always been one of my favourite colour, I'd bought a few different shades of Turquoise nail polish before, but by far is the lightest shade I'd come across. A very eye popping colour and it totally complements my tanned skin.

FW Nail Color 09 RM6 (Usual Price : RM10)
Iniatially I was going to get Nail Color 31 Red Gossip, but in the end I got myself this as Red Gossip is a darker shade of red and I wanted to have a lighter shade of bright red nail colour for christmas. I definitely make the perfect choice as it's the same shade as my christmas ball ornaments.lolz.

Elianto nail polishes are thick in texture, so a light hand is needed when applying it so it doesn't end up being clumpy, I usually apply 2 coats for a smoother look. So far, none of Elianto nail polish turns my nails yellowish so that's definitely another reason why I love their nail polish.

Elianto is definitely generous when it comes to giving freebes, an e-voucher worth RM25, 3 sample sackets of Organic Hydra Intensive Mask and an exclusive invitation for a detoxification therapy at Mary Chia which of course I won't be able to go since I live so far away in Sabah, lolz.

So if you haven't check out their sale that is still ongoing on their E-store, do check it now before it ends :)

Zalora Malaysia - 2nd Shopping Haul

I was really satisfied with my 1st shopping experience from Zalora Malaysia, so I decided to do another shopping haul. So 2 days after receiving my 1st haul, I went ahead and ordered some new items that were on sale for my mom and bro.

And once again the order went smoothly and I received an email on the same day stating my order had been shipped out via GDEX. The order was done on Thursday afternoon and I received my items on Monday.

So here's what I got for my mom,

Zalora Basic Strappy Sandals ~ RM18

These white sandals are so pretty, pretty sure I'll be borrowing these from my mom, hehehe.

Ezra Basic Slip On Loafers With Contrasting Piping ~ RM19

These turns out to be a little bigger than my mom's usual size 6, but it was not that bad and it was still comfortable to wear so we didn't return this.

Zalora Strappy T-Bar Kitten Chunky Heel Sandals ~ RM55

My mom loves chunky heels and strappy sandals, so this is perfect for her.

Zalora Basic Double Wrap Around Watch ~ RM12

I was supposed to buy a brown colour minimalist looking watch for my mom, but they're all sold out, so I bought her this instead, I still can't believe this elegant looking pastel blue watch only cost me RM12 during the 1212 sale, such a bargain, now I'm kinda regretting I didn't get 1 for myself, lolz, oh well, perhaps next time.

Here's what I got for my bro,

Ambros Black Mamba ~ RM67.06

Surprisingly these shoes are quite light and they're very cool looking, another great bargain since these originally cost M95.80, hah!

Finally this is what I got for myself,

Something Borrowed Off Shoulder Collared Dress ~ RM32

I super love the material of the dress, it's quite sturdy and feels comfortable on my skin, not to mention it's not too thin nor is it too thick, perfect for the warm Borneo weather, lol.

Once again I'm super satisfied with my shopping haul from Zalora. It's definitely a mystery why I never thought of visiting their website before this, so I'm super glad their ad is everywhere on facebook because that's how on I ended up with 2 shopping hauls in a week, haha : )

Zalora Malaysia ~ Shopping Haul

It's almost Christmas and I'd just realized I have not bought a single dress this year, lolz. Time is running out and I'm kinda worried in doing pre-order shopping since there is a slight chance that it won't arrive in time since it is after all the festive month.

Lately I'd been seeing a lot of Zalora ad everywhere but never thought of buying anything from them. But strangely that day I was a little curious and decided to do a little visit to their Zalora website..... and BAM..... I got hooked, lolz. There were so many great items on sale, a few minutes of browsing turn into a few days of intense bargain hunt, there's a great 1212 sale but of course by that time, most of my wistlist items will probably be sold out, so on sun morning, 07 Dec I pick out my favourite items and did my early shopping haul.

Online shopping in Zalora is quite easy and hassle free, a few minutes is all you need to sign up for an account and there's even a RM20 voucher with minimum RM99 total purchase after subscribing their newsletter, shipping is free with RM75 total purchase and above. For my order, I choose online banking as my method of payment and immediately after payment, I received a confirmation email along with my Order No. I noticed Zalora is quite efficient in handling their order as I received an email on that evening stating my order had been shipped out via GDEX. The estimated delivery time is 1 - 3 working days, extra 1 day for Sabah & Sarawak.

Guess what? My items arrived on Tuesday evening, which is super fast considering the fact I'm from Sabah.

So here's what I got...
Holy crap, that's a lot of black, haha.

Zalora (Strappy Mix Material Sandals) ~ RM25

The sandals came in this pretty elegant looking box

Super love these sandals, they're so comfy and I love the metal buckle fastening

I bought 1 dress and 1 cami from the brand Ezra by Zalora. Both of these came with their own zip lock dust bag.

Ezra By Zalora (Basic Strappy Cami) ~ RM27

This rayon blend cami fits me perfectly and it's super comfy too.

Ezra By Zalora (Embellished Trim Swing Dress) ~ RM35

I love the beaded details on the straps, the dress is quite thick too with it's Polyester inner lining.

Something Borrowed (Lace Sleeve Jersey Top) ~ RM39

Initially I was going to buy the black version, but I changed my mind at the last minute and bought this.

Should have stick to the black version as the texture of the white one is a little thin and see through and I'm not too keen on the round neckline, pretty sure it'll be out of shape after a few wash. But I do love the lacy trimming on the sleeves and the bottom, so I decided to keep this : )

In the end, I end up only paying around RM106 after discount for these 4 items. Haha, what a bargain for such great quality items. So if you haven't start shopping for Christmas, go ahead and have a look at their website!

Things To Do In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Part 2 : Sapi Island)

In my previous post, I'd mention about Jesselton Point, which is the main public ferry terminal for Labuan and boat terminal for Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park which consist of  Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island and Sulug Island.

Since it's the holiday season, I'm going to post about an island getaway (sorta), lol. A friend and I decided to visit Sapi Island instead of island hopping to 3 different islands since we find it a little tedious and we prefer a more relaxing trip.

Here's an aerial picture view I took from a plane window (from a trip to Labuan Island) which shows the small cluster of islands.

According to the WikipediaPulau Sapi, literally known as "Cow Island" in Malay is just off the south-western tip of Pulau Gaya. The 25-acre (10 ha) island features one of the nicest beaches in the park and most popular with tourists for snorkelling and scuba diving. Between 10am and 4pm the island gets quite busy with foreign tourists but after the last ferry leaves it becomes a tranquil island with only those staying overnight. It is developed with tourist facilities that includes a jetty, picnic shelters, barbecue pits, tables, changing rooms and toilets. The forest is inhabited by macaques. Camping and campfires are allowed with the permission from the Park Warden.

At Jesselton Point, you'll find different boat operators which offers more or less the same package, but the price may differ so it's good to check with a few different boat operators before making up your mind. After we decided on going to Sapi Island, we choose the friendliest boat operator and bought our tickets which is also inclusive of life jacket for the boat trip. If you're planning to do some snorkeling, there's also snorkeling gears and life jackets for hire.

Before going for our island trip, we decided to bring some fast food takeway for our little island picnic. The boat ride only took around 10 minutes, we truly enjoy the boat ride and since the weather is quite sunny, the sea view was spectaculary blue : )

Stepping out from the boat, we were quite taken with the white sandy beaches and sparkling blue sea water, it truly feels like paradise, lolz.

We quickly thank the boat operator and told him we'll be heading back around 3pm in the evening. One important thing to do before stepping out of the boat is to remember which boat operator you'd hired and don't forget to ask for his name or tel no, or else you'll have a hard time to remember which boat you'd have to ride back home since it's going to be quite crowded in the evening.

Luckily it was not so crowded that day since we planned our outing on a weekday, if you're going to do some island getaway on weekend, be prepared for huge crowds as families or companies usually do their picnics or family day on weekends.

Sapi Island is definitely the perfect choice is you're into swimming and snorkelling. There's plenty of fishes and coral beds and I was really excited to spot Nemo swimming around. Too bad I didn't get to take any pictures of that since I was too busy being amazed, but I did get to take a picture of this, meh...

and this.......
I'd visit all 3 islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and I noticed Sapi Island has the most seashells. So if you're planning to collect seashells , this is the place for you.

Crystal clear sea water, super sunny weather, ahhh paradise....

I'm glad I pick a blue dress that day, lolz.

After splashing ourselves silly in the water for a while, we head back to our secluded spot at the end of the beach and dig into our little takeaway lunch. Lunch buffet here cost quite a bomb and we really don't wanna spend that much on seafood buffet that we can easily get in KK for less.

There's a few monitor lizard hanging around the island. Not to be confused with the poisonous komodo dragons, monitor lizard is a little smaller in size and apparently they also have an appetite for KFC finger licking good fried chicken.

Can I have more of that KFC fried chicken please? lolz.

Time flies when you're having fun. Soon it was time to head back home. It didn't take long before our boat operator arrives.

Overall, Sapi Island is the perfect island for someone who prefers a more tranquil environment, there's less crowds and you can spend quiet moments reading your favourite novel while enjoying the beautiful sea view. Also do check out the weather forecast before planning any island getaway since it's best to do it during clear sunny weather : )
