Fashion Inspiration - Cinderella

I have always been into fairy tales, especially Cinderella. Many animated and movie version of Cinderella have been made throughout the years, but the recently released Disney's Cinderella movie is by far the best version I'd seen so far.

Magical and enchanting, Lily James personifies the kindhearted and beautiful Cinderella. I'm glad Sir Kenneth Branagh decided to stick to the original story and didn't deviate much from the original Cinderella, because there's no reason to ruin a classic fairy tale by changing the whole plot line :)

Three-time Oscar winner, costume designer Sandy Powell is the genius behind the fabulous costumes in Cinderella. My fave is of course the iconic shimmery, layered blue dress with butterfly accents that Cinderella wore to the royal ball.

Apparently it took  270 yards of fabric, 10 000 Swarovski crystals, 4 miles of thread and 3 miles of hems to make this iconic dress. It definitely pays off as the dress really looks like a work of art, woven by the magical wand of a fairy godmother.

The long-sleeved ivory wedding dress reminds me a lot of Grace Kelly. Very 50s. Classic, regal and elegant.

Surprise surprise, I didn't hate the charming prince in this movie, lmao. Lily James & Richard Madden has great chemistry in the movie, so great that they'll be doing a stage adaption of Romeo and Juliet in the West End, once again directed by Cinderella's director Sir Kenneth Branagh.

Not only do I love the movie, I'm also in love with this Disney’s Cinderella Mattel Doll, which looks a lot like Lily James in the movie.

The glass slippers are gorgeous too!

I actually won this from Walt Disney Studios facebook giveaway. Lucky me! lol.

Melvita L'Argan Bio Gentle Shower Gel & L'Argan Bio Velvet Hand Cream

Last Christmas, my bestfriend and I joined the Happiness In A Stocking contest and won ourselves these lovely goodies from Clozette, Melvita L'Argan Bio Gentle Shower Gel & L'Argan Bio Velvet Hand Cream. We were super excited as there's no Melvita outlet here in KK, but they do have an online E-store : )

Formulated with a sulphate-free, gentle botanical cleansing base, foaming agents derived from argan oil and plant-based glycerine, the Gentle Shower Gel contains essential fatty acids to respect the skin’s hydrolipidic film and leave skin perfectly moisturized after showering.

The texture of this shower gel is quite runny, which I love as it lathers up well. It has a woody earthy scent which reminds me of men's cologne. Scent wise, I'm not too fond of this, as it doesn't have that feminine scent that I love, but it does cleans up the skin well and doesn't dried out my skin unlike any other shower gel.

The lipid-replenishing power of argan oil lies at the heart of this new formula. Enriched with repairing shea butter, nourishing sunflower oil and protective beeswax, the Velvet Hand Cream sinks rapidly into the skin and contains silica to give an instant dry and velvety feel. The light, delicately scented texture leaves hands soft and supple.

99% of the total ingredients are from natural origin.
27% of the total ingredients are from Organic Farming.

At first try, I didn't love this, the scent of this hand lotion is not what I would consider as light. It has a slightly masculine earthy smell which I found can be quite overpowering. This smells a lot like the shower gel, but with more sillage and staying power.

After using this for a while, I no longer find the scent unbearable, lolz. It reminds me a lot of my childhood memories, where I used to dig a lot of holes in my mom's little garden, hehehe.

Texture wise, it's quite creamy. It absorbs well on my skin and doesn't leave any greasy oily feeling. After 5 minutes of slathering this on, you won't even feel it on your skin, the only thing you'd noticed is your smooth supple skin.

This hand lotion reminds me a lot of Crab Tree & Evelyn's Gardener's Hand Therapy. They both have an earthy scent and really works in keeping my skin soft and supple. The only difference is Crab Tree & Evelyn's Gardener's Hand Therapy is a bit heavier and thicker in terms of texture.

Overall, it's a great hand lotion especially if you're into woody, earthy scent. But if you're a fan of fruity/floral feminine scent, you should probably give this a miss : )

The Body Shop Moisture White™ Shiso UV Protector Cream

Lately the weather's been really scorching hot, thanks to the Equinox phenomenon that's been causing an increase in our weather temperature which are already high. The only good thing is the weather is perfect if you're planning an island getaway : )

Slathering sunblock all over yourself is a must, especially if you live in a country with a hot weather like mine. When it comes to sunblock, I always choose gel based sunblock as they're super light on the skin. So it's definitely something new when I decided to try on The Body Shop Moisture White™ Shiso Moisture Cream, which is a cream based sunblock.

The Body Shop Moisture White™ Shiso UV Protector Cream (RM129)

This moisturising cream protects skin against harmful UV rays. It contains a unique Japanese shiso formula. It provides UV protection with SPF 30 and proven to improve the appearance of skin brightness in four weeks.
  • Japanese Shiso Oil - A popular herb commonly used in Japanese cuisine, shiso is rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acid. This humble herb is proven to fight pigmentation by suppressing early melanin activation, thereby preventing and minimizing formation of dark spots and uneven skin tone.
  • Vitamin C - A natural anti-oxidant that controls excessive melanin production in the deepest skin layers to help even out skin tone and restore skin’s natural radiance.

For a cream based sunblock, this is quite light weight. It glides on smoothly on my skin without making my whole face greasy. Though it doesn't feel as light as gel based sunblock, I still love the velvety consistency of this. I did not suffer any break outs and there are no new visible pigmentation on my skin, which is a miracle, considering the current scorching hot weather.

This sunblock has a natural scent which is quite distinctive, scent wise I wouldn't say it smell heavenly nor does it smell nasty, lolz.

Overall it's a really great sunblock if you're having pigmentation problems like me. My skin appear brighter than before. This is also great for those with sensitive or dry skin, as it's quite gentle on the skin and doesn't cause any dryness.

The Body Shop Moisture White™ Shiso UV Protector Cream can be bought from The Body Shop Outlet and their Online E-Store, retail price is RM129.

If you're looking for a new sunblock, do give this a try : )

When it comes to makeup, I always prefer the natural look. Hence the reason why I always prefer wearing BB cream as it always appear more natural on the skin in comparison to wearing foundation.

So I was super excited when Natta Cosme send this parcel containing Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream for me to review.

Here's a little peak inside the box, which contains the Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream, Cerro Qreen powder puff ....

and a vintage bow hair claw which I really love 💕

Not to forget the super cute french vintage looking envelope.

Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream (RM89)

The Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream comes in a tube size of 40ml. It's a multi functional skin care and makeup product.

An upgraded version of BB cream, the addition of hyaluronic acid adds moisturizing effect and sebum control powder keeps skin soft and oil free. It also has an SPF40 PA++, perfect for protection against UV rays.

The texture of the blemish cream is quite creamy. So blending it won't be quite so difficult...

Especially when you have this Cerro Qreen powder puff as it's super soft and made the whole blending process so much smoother.

Cerro Qreen Powder Puff (RM4.90)

Creamy in texture, it glides on easily on my skin

The Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream gives an instant brightening effect on my hands, which looks super natural to me, as it only lighten within 1-2 shades of my original skin tone.

And here's a shot of me before and after applying it on my face, I wanted a more natural look, so this is done using just less than a dime size of the Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream

When it comes to BB Cream, the most dreaded thing I detest the most is having a white cast face, due to the fact I have tan skin and most of them don't seem to blend quite well with my skin tone.

Luckily I did not face this problem with Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream, my skin appeared rosier and brighter without any unatural whiter tone. Yay to natural healthier looking skin!

Even though it has a creamy texture, it doesn't feel heavy nor does it makes my skin oily. My overall skin appeared much more smoother and even. It's so light I don't even feel it on my skin, it also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, which is always another plus for me.

Since I don't have any serious undereye circles and pimples, the light coverage of this is just perfect for my skin : )

So, are you intrigue yet with Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream : ) ?
