Check-In Dining Restaurant

Check-In Dining Restaurant which is located at 88 Marketplace Kota Kinabalu, is an aviation theme restaurant. This unique, one of a kind dining experience definitely pique our interest, which is why we decided to stop by there and quench our curiosity.

Check-In Dining Restaurant definitely offers a wide variety of menu and we were spoilt with many choices.

With all these realistic looking airplane windows, it really does boast an in-flight dining atmosphere.

We were so into taking pictures that the manager even brought a pilot and stewardess hats for us to take play with, lolz.

We actually made some mistakes during writing out our order, which is the reason why we ended up eating dessert first. lolz.

Panna Cotta

The famous Panna Cotta, a gelatinous creamy dessert with crumbly chipsmore-like cookies on top of it. The whole thing looks a lot like a little plant. Definitely a unique way of serving dessert. The fact that I'm into gardening really does made me feel wary of eating this as it really does reminds me of my flower pots at home. Thankfully it taste nothing like soil, lol. Instead it's a sweet creamy dessert that melts wonderfully in my mouth ^.^

Vanilla Ice Cream, Cheesy Fries & Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu

We made a mistake in ordering and ended up with these, but it was all good as we really did enjoyed these. The Vanilla Ice Cream &  Matcha Green Tea Tiramisu were super delicious. The cheese sauce that covered the whole fries was super flavourful and doesn't taste bland. The fries were not soggy at all, which is another reason why I love these.

Spicy Hot Chicken Wings

These Spicy Hot Chicken Wings are the best! They're super crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. They're definitely well marinated and I would definitely recommend these to all chicken wings lover out there, hahaha. In terms of spicyness, it's definitely not that spicy for me, which is another plus as I always have a problem  in enjoying the wonderful burst of flavours when the whole spicyness overwhelms all the other flavour.

Baked Clam With Cheese & Tomato Sauce

The cheese & tomato sauce combo really makes this dish taste so good. Yum Yum Yum!

Markisa & Apple Juice

Fruit juices are served on these glasses that resembles light bulb,  so unique! These taste refreshingly good.

Overall, we really love dining here, it's a quirky way of enjoying our meal in a one of a kind restaurant. Price wise, we were expecting a much higher price than most of the other restaurant that we had been to, but it was actually quite affordable. So do check out this place if you haven't and experience it for yourself ^.^

Socialize Cafe

According to Socialize Cafe facebook fanpage,
"Socialize is a cafe with good food and good entertainment where people of all interest can come hang out. Where to go? Go Socialize, where people meet."

An appropriately named cafe I must say, lolz. Irene has been visiting this cafe in Metro Town  for a few times since it's opening. With a name as catchy as that, a nod of approval & a big thumbs up on their quality of food from Irene, we'd decided to have our weekend breakfast here together with my mom and brother.

There's actually a tree with fairy lights behind our back, filled with polaroid pictures of customers who visited here.

Posing for the camera ^.^

All of us decided to order the same menu, hahaha, since there doesn't seem to be much choices as most of the menu that we wanted to try are only available after 11.30am.

Ham Omelette Breakfast Set

I love their bread, it was fluffy, crispy on the edges and toasted to perfection. As for the ham omelette, I wasn't too fond of it as I'm not a big fan of omelette that's slightly runny in the middle, even though that's the perfect omelette for most people, lolz. Unlike me, the others all seem to enjoy it. So I guess it's probably just me then, meh...

Overall, it's still a great place for hanging out with friends and family. But next time, I'll probably skip breakfast and choose lunch here as there's more choices in terms of menu after 11.30am.

Adelphi & Co

A while back ago, Irene & I decided to have our breakfast at Adelphi & Co, a western style cafe that's located in Damai Plaza. Being one of the latest cafe in Kota Kinabalu,  we were keen on trying out their menu.

Here's what we decided to have for breakfast.

Smoked Ham Toasted Crossaint Sandwich

 Smoked Duck Toasted Crossaint Sandwich

 Chocolate Milk

Both of us ordered crossaint sandwiches & iced chocolate milk for our breakfast. To be frank, I was never a big fan of crossaint, as I feel that it always taste kinda bland. So imagine my surprise when I took a bite and actually enjoyed it, lolz. It was crispy, flaky & buttery, the slight saltiness from the smoked ham/turkey really does complements well with the crossaint.

I really love the side salad too, the flavourful salad dressing adds a unique touch to the salad. I kinda forgot the name for the drinks that we ordered, but it's definitely chocolate milk, hahaha, these taste awesome too,  chocolatey milky goodness.

Our order totals up around RM50, a price that is slightly higher than the other cafe that we'd tried before. But with the great food, great service and super cozy ambience, it's definitely worth a visit especially for the cafe enthusiast ^.^

Sakagura Japanese Restaurant

Sakagura is a Japanese restaurant that's located at Oceanus Waterfront Mall. Originated from Hokkaido, Sakagura serve authentic style Japanese cuisine. Like most other eatery in Oceanus Waterfront Mall, this restaurant is actually run by Japanese owner.

Irene, the ever loving Japanese Enthusiast introduced me to Sakagura, claiming that it's the best place that serve Japanese Curry Rice in town ^.^

As usual when I'm in a Japanese Restaurant. I love to order Japanese Garlic Rice. Because I love love love Garlic Rice. lolz.

Lightly fragrant with delicate garlic, this garlic rice is super delicious. Simplicity at it's best!

Irene's favourite Japanese Curry Rice ^.^

Definitely the best Japanese Curry Rice in town. It's delicious curry fragrance will definitely enticed you to have a bite, or perhaps a plate, lolz.  Sakagura serves Japanese rice which are a bit fluffier and stickier than our locally produced rice.

Super Crispy Salmon with Egg Mayo.

This is a special dish that's normally not on their menu. Occasionally Sakagura serve these extra special dishes, so if you happen to notice this on their menu,  do try this as their  super fresh, super crispy and super delicious. Their egg mayo dressing tasted so good, I even drool a little while typing this blog post, lolz.

Yum! Yum! Yum!

Overall, the food were delicious and definitely taste better than the other Japanese Restaurants in KK. The staffs were friendly and accommodating, which is another great plus for this must visit Japanese restaurant. The only downside is their price range is definitely higher than the other Japanese Restaurants in KK, but for the quality of food that is serve here, it's definitely worth it ^.^

Breadboss Bakery Cafe

Breadboss Bakery Cafe is located in Damai and is one of the best places for having waffles and coffees.  They offer a great variety of freshly brewed coffee, with coffee beans that are imported from Ethiopia, Brazil, Indonesia  & Papua New Guinea.

Here's a few pics of their super crispy waffles, which are super delicious ^.^

Banana Chocolate Waffle

Fruit Waffle

Belgian Classic Waffle

Coffee Latte & Double Chocolate

Hmmm....Interesting looking decor...

Wefie is a must ^.^

Irene was the one who introduced me to this cafe, she spends a lot of time hanging out & having coffee here with friends ever since she took dance classes  at Synergy Dance Studio, which is located just upstairs from this cafe.

Overall, I love the food here. Their waffles and coffees are a must try. So do check out this place if you haven't done so yet!
