Anna Sui Fantasia

Anna Sui Fantasia was launched in 2017 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Jerome Epinette. The bottle features a majestic looking unicorn on top of a giant golden acorn. It's whimsical and magical, which is the reason why I bought a miniature bottle of it even though Anna Sui has never been my choice of perfume brand in the past due to their perfume short longevity.

  1. Top Notes
    • Pink pomelo,
    • Pink pepper, Cassis
  2. Heart Notes
    • Raspberry Praline,
    • Violet, Orange Flower, Pastel Orchid,
  3. Base notes
    • Golden cypress,
    • Himalayan
    • cedar

  4. The floral bouquet base is offset by undertones of Golden cypress and Himalayan cedar wood, giving Fantasia the aura of an enchanted forest.
  5. Fantasia’s woodsy and floral fragrance conjures up sensuality, femininity, and mystery. Sweet pink pomelo is blended with undertones of spicy pink pepper to create a complex and vibrant mix.

This is a nostalgic scent as it brings me back to my childhood memories. We used to grow Pomelo trees and every time their fruits begin to ripen, our home would be filled with their uplifting and aromatic citrusy scent. I haven't eaten any Pomelo for years, but I do remember the taste of it's pulpy flesh, which I would describe as neither too sweet nor it is sour. The same goes to this scent, it's the perfect balance between sweet and fresh.

It starts off with a burst of citrus-like scent that's fresh and zingy but never too sharp. The raspberry praline adds a sweetness to it but even after a while, Pomelo is still the main star for this scent, steering the scent away from sticky sweet territory. It's very long lasting for an edt, even after shower, there's still faint traces of it's woody drydown that I could pick up from my skin.

If I have known this perfume falls under the floriental genre, I would have gotten it sooner. I have initially thought it to be another fruity floral that's marketed towards a younger crowd.Well now that I'd tried it, I find it to be quite appealing to any age group, irregardless of your opinion towards unicorn 😉

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream

A few weeks back, I'd received a parcel from Gobdigoun, a Korean beauty brand that produces affordable as well as higher-end cosmetic and skincare products. This luxurious looking Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream is the product that they'd sent in exchange for a product review.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream

"Selenium, which is plentiful in goat milk, helps removes pernicious ingredients. Goat milk substance in known to be docile and advantageous to skin thanks to it's biological similarity to breast milk. With it's high moisture content (88%), goat milk provides sufficient hydration, white protein enzyme helps remove dead skin cells on your face.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream aims at :
  • Skin Whitening
  • Skin Nutrition
  • Skin Tone Adjustment
  • Make Up Durability
  • Mitigation Of Minor Skin Traction & Exfoliation

Texture wise, this is a light weight cream that absorbs easily on skin. Titanium Dioxide is listed as one of it's ingredients, which is mainly used in sunscreen that's designed for sensitive skin. Products that contains high level of Titanium Dioxide are known to leave a white cast on skin. In this case, it's white cast does leaves a noticeable, brightening effect on my skin rather than a chalky effect, much to my delight, as I do find it's hard to find Korean cosmetics brand that matches my skin tone.

I rarely wear heavy makeup on normal days as I never feel comfortable with all the layers of products, especially during hot and humid days. CC cream has always been my preferred choice for the day, as it gives a more natural glowing skin effect. With Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Steps Tinted Tone-Up Cream, I find that it's quite sufficient to skip my usual CC Cream.

Applying Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream on top of my sunblock gives me an instant natural, healthy glow with an added brightening effect. It stays matte on my skin, which makes it perfect for those with combination and oily skin, as it doesn't feel greasy at all. If you're looking for a mild coverage base makeup, this is a great choice too as it helps to make your makeup last longer.

Over time, I do noticed my complexion seems to appear lighter in tone, thanks to the nourishing effect of goat milk which is well known for it's skin whitening and moisturizing properties.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Steps Tinted Tone-Up Cream can be purchase from Gobdigoun physical stores in Myeong-dong, Seoul, South Korea or you can purchase them online from and they will shipped them directly to you from Korea. For more info, do visit :

Lolita Lempicka Fleur Défendue

My favourite fragrance house has always been Lolita Lempicka.  There is something magical in the way their perfume smell, often with masculine vibe hidden behind sweet feminine notes and feminine designed bottles.

Fleur Défendue is a discontinued scent by Lolita Lempicka. The scent was launched in 2008 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Annick Menardo, the talent behind Hypnotic Poison & Bvlgari Black, the smokey rubber and black tea cult hit during the late 90s.

  1. Top Notes
    • Mimosa,
    • Strawberry Leaf, Wormwood, Green Notes
  2. Heart Notes
    • Anise,
    • Peony,
    • Violet, Iris
  3. Base notes
    • Cherry,
    • Almond,
    • Musk

Fleur Défendue, which means Forbidden Flower, is a flanker to the original Lolita Lempicka. I find it to be a little different from the original Lolita, where licorice and smokey hints of tobacco notes lurks behind violets and sweet cherry notes. Fleur Défendue is a little more crisp, a little more green with blends of floral notes that dries down to a powdery, woody scent. It is not as sweet as the original Lolita Lempicka, it is also lighter, with medium projection and lasting power.

As it starts to dry down, the cherry notes becomes more noticeable, though the scent stays close to the skin, making it more of a skin scent. If you find Lolita Lempicka to be too overpowering, you're probably going to love this more, though personally I prefer the original for it's smokey, gothic vibe. The only downside is this had been discontinued for a while, which makes it harder to get on the market. But if you do stumbled upon this, do give it a try!

Mamonde Flower Facial Mask

I love flowers and anything that's floral inspired, but somehow I'd forgotten to try this Mamonde Flower Facial Mask, which has been sitting for too long in my drawer. Mamonde is a Korean beauty brand that mainly uses real flower extracts in their skincare and makeup. The latest addition to their skincare line are these Mamonde Flower Facial Mask, which are available in 4 different types of mask.

1) Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask

This may look like green tea ice cream but it's not, lol. It's the 1st mask that I'd tried out of the 4 Mamonde Flower Facial Mask. Unlike most other clay mask, Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask has a soft citrusy floral scent to it. It's soft and creamy and works well in absorbing excess sebum.

Formulated with eco-friendly ingredients, the Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask is perfect for those with oily skin and large pores. However those with dry skin wil probably find this to be quite drying on their skin.

2) Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask

Suitable for dry and dull skin. This is meant to purify and revitalize skin, giving skin a healthier glow. It's main ingredients includes rose petals, green tea and peppermint extract. Once applied on skin, it reacts with air and gradually starts to foam up, creating these soft, fluffy, bubbles.

Although bubble mask can be seen as quite gimmicky, this actually works as a gentle exfoliator and it purifies skin deeply leaving you with cleaner pores.

3) Mamonde Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask

One of the main ingredient for this sleeping mask is Calendula, known for it's skin soothing properties. Mamonde Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask is made to calm and hydrate skin. Texture wise, it's runny, almost watery, thinner than most of the sleeping mask that I'd tried prior to this. Performance wise, it absorbs quickly on skin, great for those with oily skin as it doesn't feel greasy at all, somehow it reminds me of The Face Shop Rasberry Root Sleeping Mask, though it doesn't work quite as well as it in terms of hydration.

I would probably skip this if you're looking for a heavy duty sleeping mask as it doesn't feel hydrating at all. For me it's a little too light weight to be considered as a good sleeping mask.

4) Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask

Lastly, the Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask. The main ingredients includes evening primrose extract, Camellia Oil and Sunflower Oil, which helps to moisturized dry and bloated skin. Texture wise, it's quite heavy, though it does absorbs fast into the skin. It leaves skin feeling soft and dewy the next morning. This mild floral scented sleeping mask is best on dry or normal skin as it can be a little too heavy on oily skin.

Out of the 4, I find Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask the best suited for my sensitive-combination skin type. But most of all, I love how it adds a little fun to my otherwise normal beauty routine.

Hello Stranger Cafe

Hello Stranger Cafe is an Asian and Western fusion cafe located at The Walk, Riverson. Their menu are largely inspired by Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, with a mix of western style breakfast. The perfect place to celebrate Mazel's early birthday on a Sunday afternoon.

Teriyaki Chicken

My choice of lunch as I love Teriyaki chicken and sunny side up egg, but only the egg white part. I always took out the egg yolk  part and placed it on my friend's plate, sometimes without them knowing, lmao. These chicken slices are quite tender, sweet and savoury.

Chicken Katsu Curry

Irene who just got back from Japan had chosen this menu because apparently her heart is still in Japan, lol. The chicken slices are crispy and the curry are quite tasteful but somehow this menu is lacking something that she can't put her finger on,  sentiments and nostlagia. ðŸ˜‚

Nevertheless it's still quite delicious, the perfect lunch for Japanese curry lovers.

Yakitori Don

The most flavourful out of all the menu that we had chosen. A little salty for my taste but it's the right type of salty-ness for  an authentic Japanese style meal as they love their food a tad bit saltier. The flavour that burst in your mouth shows just how well these pieces of chicken are marinated.

A mix of fried eggs with chicken. Martina's preferred choice of lunch. It's filled with scrambled eggs and chunks of chicken. A simple meal that's quite delicious.

Butter Chicken Banh Mi

This is a Vietnamese style sandwich which consist of french baguette with butter chicken filling. I love the flavourful butter chicken and the fresh lettuce, but the outer crust of the baguette is a little tough for my liking.

Matcha Honey Cream Cake

Even though it's stated as a Matcha Honey Cream Cake, there's little hint of Matcha in it, it's very heavy on honey and it drowns away all the green tea flavour. Cayla who loves everything sweet really likes this but the rest of us were not too fond of it.

There's a book shelf at the end of the cafe, complete with a ladder, along with some cozy looking sofa. I even spotted Diary Of A Wimpy Kid on the shelf, if you haven't read the book series yet you should, because it's strangely hilarious, in a self deprecating way. Anyway it's perfect to browse around these books if you're waiting for a friend or in need of something to pass the time.

Overall we do enjoy ourselves here and the cozy ambience is definitely quite appealing. Hello Stranger Cafe serves no pork on their menu. If you're into Asian and Western fusion cafe, or if you're looking for a cafe that serves Viet Phin or Vietnamese Coffee, this should be on your list of cafe to try.

Sophie Monk Miracle Mask

These are my current favourite sheet mask, dubbed as The Miracle Mask from Taiwanese skincare brand Sophie Monk. They're available in 3 different variants, hydration, radiance & pore purifying, each specifically designed to target different skin needs.

A) Hydrating

My favourite out of the 3 miracle mask. This silk mask is super saturated with hydrating essences that leaves my skin feeling plump and well hydrated. It's also gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't cause any redness and flare ups.

B) Pore Purifying

Perfect for oily skin as it purifies and reduce the appearance of pores, leaving you with fresh and cleaner skin.

C) Whitening

If you're in need of an instant brightening before a big day or a special event. This will be your perfect choice as it leaves you with brighter and glowing skin. Perfect for those with dull skin that needs an instant lift me up.

The texture of this silk mask is super thin and soft, which makes it cling easier to my skin. It also makes it so much easier for my skin to absorb all the essences, leaving my skin feeling soft, glowing and well hydrate. Sophie Monk Miracle Mask are available at Sasa and each mask retails at RM7.90. Do check them out if you're a sheet mask lover, especially for those with sensitive skin as these are quite gentle on skin.

Dolce By Dolce & Gabbana

  1. Dolce By Dolce & Gabbana is a feminine fragrance which was released in 2014. It was meant to represent an emotional and sensual journey through Sicily, which is the home of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the dynamic duo behind the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

  2. Top Notes
    • Neroli leaf,
    • Papaya blossom
  3. Heart Notes
    • White amaryllis,
    • Narcissus,
    • Water lily
  4. Base Notes
    • Cashmeran,
    • Musk

        • THE DESIGN

        • Dolce & Gabbana Dolce’s elegant packaging is reminiscent of a vintage fragrance flacon. Thick, clear glass with softly curved lines lending a contemporary design edge. The flower stopper pays tribute to Sicilian customs, crafted to portray the marzipan sculptures seen in traditional Sicilian confectioners. A thin black grosgrain ribbon, presented in an elegant bow, conjures images of the white shirts and bow-ties that were a signature of early Dolce & Gabbana catwalk shows. The final, and most personal, touch: Dolce signed in a flourish of black script, a replica of Domenico Dolce’s father’s own signature.

    • I love the design of their bottle, the flower shape bottle opening and black ribbon bow really gives off a feminine appeal to it's overall look. Scent wise, Dolce By Dolce & Gabbana opens up with a sweet citrusy burst of Neroli leaf and Papaya blossoms. As the top notes dissipate, the heart notes of White amaryllis, Narcissus and Water lily starts blending together, creating an overall blend of white floral scent, which smells slightly aquatic at this point. It then dries down to a soft and warm cashmere-like scent. An elegant scent with moderate silage, people will catch a whiff of this fresh and crisp scent as you walk past. Subtle and never too much.

        • Strictly for floral scent lovers, especially for those with a penchant for white floral scent, this is a good perfume to try. It last for hours on my skin and it slightly reminds me of another perfume, J'adore by Christian Dior, where  they both share characteristic of a clean soapy scent...a very expensive luxury soap scent.

a;t fox Gyoolpy Tea Gel Cream

a;t fox which stands for afternoon tea+fox is actually a beauty cosmetics cafe located in Hondae, Seoul. This is a unique cafe where not only do you get your favourite teas and desserts, but skincare and makeup products as well.

a;t fox Gyoolpy Tea Gel Cream is one of their well known product, made with high concentration of Vitamin-C from Gyoolpy Tea, it deeply nourishes and moisturizes the skin, leaving a refreshing, lasting glow on your skin. Also, being a gel-type cream, it spreads and penetrates into the skin smoothly and without curdling, and at the same time creates a thin, moisture layer over your skin to prevent dehydration

Scent wise, it has a citrusy tea-like scent, which is quite mild. A gel type cream that melts easily on skin, it keeps skin well hydrated throughout the day without adding any shine nor sticky-ness. Due to it's watery thin texture, it's perfect for those with oily and combination skin as it doesn't feel heavy nor oily at all. But for those with super dry skin, this won't works as well as it's not a heavy duty moisturizer where it gives intense hydration to skin.

Overall it's a great product that keep skin soft and supple, perfect for those with normal/oily or combination skin, for me the packaging alone is a good reason to try this. Another plus? It doesn't cause any irritation on my sensitive skin.

Bioderma Hydrabio Essence Lotion

Dehydrated skin is a common problem faced by many people, especially for those living in a country where the weather are hot and humid all year round. To combat this problem, a suitable daily skincare regime is a must, along with a well balanced healthy diet that consist lots of fruts and vegetables...which I often skipped, lol.

Bioderma is a french pharmacy brand, a brand that embeds a unique scientific approach based on the knowledge of the skin and its biological mechanisms to formulate skincare products. According to their official website, below are the main functions for Bioderma Hydrabio Essence Lotion :

Generate Hydration

The patented biological complex Aquagenium® generates intense hydration, immediately and lastingly.

Vitamin PP strengthens skin resistance and impermeability

Apple seed extract stimulates the activity of Aquaporins, which are the natural channels allowing water flow within the skin.

Provide Intense Radiance

By eliminating dead cell and reducing progressively the stratum corneum thickness, the salicylic acid evens up and smoothes the skin, for a long-lasting radiant complexion.

Protect the skin against oxidative stress

The vitamin E plays the role of protector and helps to prevent skin-ageing caused by environmental factors producing free radicals.

Texture wise, the Bioderma Hydrabio Essence Lotion is quite watery, slightly thicker than the usual toner. It absorbs really fast on skin, without leaving any feeling of sticky-ness, which I love because I don't really like heavy products. There's also a slight cooling sensation after applying it on.

Fragrance is listed as one of the ingredients, there's a slight floral scent from it, though it's quite mild and doesn't smell too overpowering. I usually use a cotton pad to soak up the essence lotion before placing them on my face for a few minutes. On lazy days, I just pour some of it and slapped them on my face, lol. Both works well, so it really does depends on your preferred choice of applying it on.

Performance wise, it gives me soft and supple skin. My skin leans more towards sensitive/combination skin type, where there's tendency to be some dryness around certain parts of my skin, which is mostly around the edges of my nose. I noticed there's a lack of flaky-ness on my skin, it also gives me a well hydrated skin, as if I'd just had a facial mask the night before.

I usually use this before using my serum, which is a bit more viscous. Somehow the combination seems to work well as it really prepped my skin well before my next skincare routine. I even managed to get away by skipping my day cream and using only this, prior my sunblock.

Overall it's a great product for dehydrated skin and also for those with sensitive skin that flares up easily. Bioderma Hydrabio Essence Lotion is available in 200ml and a cute travel size of 50ml. You could get this online (Hermo, Shopee) for a cheaper price. you could also get this from Watsons (Suria Sabah), there's a small aisle that features a lot of their best selling products. If you love lightweight products that keeps skin hydrated, try this!

Eternity Intense By Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein, famous for it's seductive minimalism style has released Eternity Intense in 2016 which is a flanker to their iconic scent, Eternity. The new fragrance is made with a touch of sensual iris flower.

  1. Top Notes
    • Water Note,
    • Bergamot, Orris
    1. Heart Notes
      • Iris, Osmanthus, Rose
    2. Base Notes
      • Vanilla,
      • Sandalwood, Musk

      • Eternity Intense opens up with a blast of sharp, citrusy scent due to it's aquatic notes. The opening was a little too clean smelling for my taste. But then the floral heart notes of iris and rose starts creeping out and mellows down the harsh opening.

The scent stays intense throughout the day. But once it mellows down, it'll leave you with a lingering scent of comforting warm vanilla and sandalwood. It's a non linear scent that changes drastically from one different skin to another, which is why you should never blind bought this without first testing on your skin.

The warm vanilla dry down of this scent lingers especially on clothes but the transition from top notes to base notes seems a little too long for me. The upside is this is a long lasting scent with a good sillage, perfect for those who love it and a dizzying experience for those who's not so into it.

Sensi By Giorgio Armani

Sensi by Giorgio Armani is a floriental scent created by perfumer Alberto Morillas & Harry Fremont that was released in 2002. This perfume has been discontinued for many years, but luckily I was able to get this miniature bottle of Sensi from a perfume enthusiast who's clearing off some of her miniature collection.

Top Notes
  • Farnesi Acacia,
  • Kaffir lime
  1. Heart Notes
    • Cape jasmine, Almond, Wheat
  2. Base Notes
    • Palisander wood,
    • Benzoin

    • I love non-linear scents that goes through layers of notes over time, and this is one of those scent. Sensi has a classic, old school vibe to it, the way perfumes used to smell in the 90s and early 2000s, the style of perfume that they rarely make these days. It starts off with a crisp, refreshing scent of lime that dissipate quickly as the floral heart notes came out. Then it slowly turns into a creamy, almondy jasmine scent. Jasmine do tend to get a little sharp and heavy at times, but on Sensi, it's a little softer and subtle. It slowly dries down to a powdery, soft, warm vanilla-like scent from the resinous benzoin note.

    • A refined and sophisticated scent, it's the best perfume to wear during colder, rainy days as it gives you a cozy feel with it's warmth enveloping you like a soft blanket. It melts with you skin and gives you a sensual, luxurious delight.

Taylor By Taylor Swift

  1. Taylor by Taylor Swift was released in 2013 and this perfume reflects more of her own personal style, unlike her 2 previous fairytale inspired releases Wonderstruck & Wonderstruck Enchanted, which I personally think are more sweeter and more youthful.

My all time favourite scent has always been Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love , but it doesn't last as long as it used to ever since they reformulated it. Prior to this, I'd tried out Burberry Women, which shares the same peaches & cream drydown as Fancy Love. Though I do love it, the lasting power is even weaker than Fancy Love, which then leads to me trying out Taylor which is said to share the same drydown as Fancy Love & Burberry Women.

  1. I love the bottle design for Taylor. It's vintage inspired with a psychedelic design, complete with a classic string of faux pearl at the neck of the spray nozzle.

  1. Top Notes
    • Lychee,
    • Tangerine,
    • Magnolia
  2. Heart Notes
    • Peony,
    • Hydrangea,
    • Vanilla orchid
  3. Base notes
    • Sandalwood,
    • Apricot,
    • Cashmere musk,
    • Woods

        • Apricot is the main star for this scent. It's light and airy. Instead of feeling like you're being drenched head to toes in sticky sweet apricot jam, it feels like you're walking in a fruit orchard filled with the scent of fresh and juicy apricots. Lurking quietly in the background, you'll catch whiffs of magnolia, peony and vanilla orchid, which gives this scent the perfect balanced between fresh and floral. The musky drydown of cashmere musk and sandalwood gives it a more mature vibe, away from the crowds of sweet teeny booper scents.

It's a lively, bright, uplifting scent. It does shares some similarities to Fancy Love and Burberry due to it's apricot notes. Out of the 3 scents, I would describe this as the playful youngest sister, while Fancy Love is the romantic middle sister and finaly Burberry Women as the classic, oldest one.

No matter what your preference, any of these 3 deserves a spot on everyone's dressing table, for they're an uplifting scent that will surely brings a smile to your day!
