Acwell No.3 Aquazene Effector

Acwell is a Korean dermatological brand that incorporates traditional herbs into their skincare line, which is specifically made for sensitive skin and they are now available at Shop Ippuni. In conjunction with Shop Ippuni's Acwell Malaysia official launch,  I was luckily choosen to be one of the product reviewer for Acwell Try and Review event. Acwell No.3 Aquazene Effector was picked based on my current skin condition, which is dehydrated, sensitive mature skin.

Acwell No.3 Aquazene Effector

Skin Type : For Dehydrated, sensitive skin

Description : A total essence for stressed & sensitive skin. Formulated with Centella Asiatica Extract and Acwell's exclusive oriental herb complex, Puritox. It makes skin feel soothed, revitalized, and look visibly healthier.

Acwell products are free from parabens, sulfates, artificial dyes, mineral oil.

Texture wise, this is an oil-free, gel-cream like essence with a mild herbal scent. At first I was worried it would feel a little heavy on my combination skin, but it took only a few minutes for it to be fully absorbed on my skin. My skin instantly feels smooth and silky. It also keeps my skin feeling supple and hydrated throughout the day, without adding any oily-ness. Apparently this also works in restoring skin elasticity, which in turns keeps your skin looking more youthful, perfect for stressed and mature skin.

Acwell No.3 Aquazene Effector comes in an airless pump bottle, which makes it a more hygienic dispensing option. Applying this on during the morning, it gives a smooth and silky finish, which makes it perfect as a primer. It's also gentle on skin and doesn't feel drying at all.

Acwell products are now available at Shop Ippuni , do check out  them out here :

Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask

If you're a big fan of sheet mask, you'd probably knew all about Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask, previously known as It's Real Squeeze Mask. A friend of mine who knew how much I love using sheet mask had kindly brought back some of the latest sheet mask from Innisfree. And here's my thoughts about them.

Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask - Rose

Description : This refreshing water-type real mask, enriched with moisture from fragrant roses, leaves the skin smooth and radiant.

This has a mild, natural rose scent, which probably won't bother most people, even for people like me, who's usually not into rosey scent.

I find watery type sheet mask suits more towards those with oily skin type. It's refreshing and soothing, with adequate hydration on my combination skin. It has a brightening effect on dull and lackluster skin, and the effect stays on the next day. Overall it's quite good though I would'd say it's super hydrating.

Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask - Acai Berry

Description :  This rich cream-type real mask, enriched with abundant nourishment of thoroughly squeezed acai berries, leaves the skin resilient and full of life.

This has a fresh and citrusy scent that might seem a little artificial, but still great smelling to me.

I love the consistency of this mask, it's emulsion-like, which is slightly thicker than the watery-type sheet mask. Since Acai Berry is a superfruit that's chockfull of antioxidants, it's great for keeping skin looking youthful. Due to it's heavy consistency, it does took a while for it to fully sink on my skin. For those with oily skin, you might want to skip this mask, though it works really great in brightening my overall complexion and keeping my skin soft and plump.

Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask - Manuka Honey

Description :  A mask made with nutrient-rich manuka honey to moisturize dry, rough skin.

My favourite out of the 3, this has a mild fresh honey scent to it. It has a cooling effect, which feels very soothing on my skin. Perfect for calming skin as honey has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Though it is less heavier than the Acai Berry mask, it still works well in hydrating my dehydrated combination skin. Overall I love these mask thought people who are used to using thin-like cellulose mask might find the texture of these mask to be a little thicker on skin, therefore a bit rougher.

Woo! Cafe

There is a street named Jalan Dewan, famously known as Australia Place, which used to be a camping site for Australian troops during World War 2. A historical place known for it's vintage print shops, Australia Place is also famous among tourist and backpackers, as there's a lot of backpackers lodges around here.  Walking along this street, you'll definitely find lots of interesting looking cafes. Woo! Cafe is one the many cafes around here, the cafe that caught my friends attention due to it's minimalist white decor, so they decided it's the perfect place for my birthday lunch 😘

One of my biggest pet peeve when visiting cafes is getting a less than warm welcome from the cafe attendants, which unfortunately happens a lot, lol. We were unaware that all orders must be made at the counter, so when one of their attendant stopped by our table, we were rudely shrugged off and told to head over to the counter, without a second glance and definitely without a smile, lmao. Well, that was harsh 😂

Luckily the staff that took our order was nice and polite. It was on a Sunday morning and the whole place was packed, so our food only arrived after 20-30 minutes, which was to be expected. I randomly choose this pan seared chicken thighs out of all the menu, which was quite lucky for me as I love this a lot. The whole presentation is amazing and the meat is juicy and tender.

Mazel decided to have their signature dish, Woo's breakfast for her and Cayla. Unfortunately this taste a little bland.

Mazel with her Woo's breakfast 💕

Irene the pasta and salmon lover decided to have this Unagi Sauce Salmon Pasta. This taste really good, it has a slightly sweet and salty taste to it due to the Unagi sauce.

Irene with her iced matcha tea 😋

Overall I love the decor and ambience of the cafe. The food was nice too. Unfortunately I'm not too fond of the less than friendly service, which unfortunately had to happen during the day I celebrate my early birthday with friends 😂

KJU Perfumed By Lux

KJU Perfumed By Lux is the new, Korean-inspired premium brand by fine fragrance and beauty expert, Lux. This new collection features three exclusive Jeju-inspired perfumes, each encased in specially designed, new-look packaging. The collection includes a hair and body mist and a shower gel with perfume balm.

My set-me-free scent is created by a LUX French perfume expert. It is inspired by the perfect union of crisp, pristine Water Accord, refreshing cool JEJU Green Tea and enchanting Bergamot. It naturally elevates your senses to a new level and reveals a new you.

I love the 2 in 1 design packaging of the perfume balm and shower gel. There's a detachable perfume balm that lies on top of the shower gel. After unscrewing the perfume balm, the pump dispenser is then inserted for the shower gel.

For those who are into green tea scent, this is a great choice for you as it has a refreshing, citrusy scent of green tea that will instantly lifts you up. Perfect as a 'wake me shower' during sleepy mornings . It's thick, gel like consistency strips away dirt without making your skin dry, making your skin feeling soft instead. The green tea scent is subtle and lingers only for a while.

The perfume balm is a solid perfume that has the longest staying power out of the 3 products. Heat activates perfume, which is why the best location to dab them is on your pulse points, which is on your wrist, behind your elbow, behind your ear or at the bottom of your throat.

Perfume Notes

Top Notes : Bergamot
Middle Notes : Green Tea
Base Notes : Musk

This whole range of Missy Breezy reminds me a lot of Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden. I used to wear that a lot during my uni days. There's similarities in the way they smell both light and refreshing, perfect for wear during hot and humid days. If you're looking for a budget version of Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden, this would make a quite good choice. The body mist has the same citrusy, green tea scent that smells refreshing though the scent doesn't last too long, which is why it's better suited to use along with the perfume balm.

The talented fashion illustrator, Jae Suk Kim, famous for his whimsical and quirky Susu Girls illustration has created the different looks that matches the personalities of  the 3 variants of KJu Perfumed by Lux.

Besides Missy Breezy, KJU Perfumed By Lux are also available in Chic Violet (Inspired by Jeju Camelia) and Romantic Rosy (Inspired by Jeju Rose of Sharon). If you're interested in trying this out, these can be purchased from any Guardian store, both online and offline.

Swissvita Energy Enhancer Cream

A few months back, I was lucky enough to win this Swissvita Energy Enhancer Cream from Swissvita Malaysia. Apparently this is one of their new release, a multi purpose beauty product that works as a sunblock, concealer and also as a base makeup. For people who are always on the go, this sounds highly promising.

The Swissvita Energy Enhancer Cream comes in a tube packaging, it's easy to control the amount that are being squeeze out thanks to it's narrow nozzle opening.

It comes in a natural shade and blends easily on skin, without leaving any sticky-ness behind. Texture wise, it's creamy and non oily.

It actually gives a decent amount of coverage on my face. It managed to cover the redness around my nose so I get an overall even-looking toned on my face. The fact that Swissvita Energy Enhancer Cream works as a sunscreen with SPF 50+ is just the icing on the cake, as I get to reap the benefit of it being a concealer, base makeup and sunscreen in one go. Perfect for those who are always in the rush during the morning.

The Face Shop x Coca-Cola Lip Tint

As a big fan of Coca-Cola, it's only natural I would get my hands on one of the limited edition item from The Face Shop x Coca-Coca recent collaboration, lol. Out of all the items, the one that caught my eyes is The Face Shop Coca-Coca Lip Tint in 01. Enjoy Sunshine.

When it comes to lip colours, the colour that I love the most on my lips is orange, which makes this Face Shop Coca-Coca Lip Tint in 01. Enjoy Sunshine the perfect choice.

I love the whole packaging of this lip tint. There's a retro feel to it and I love the swirly design on the handle. It's also super easy to apply, even if you're a klutz like me, lol. I love orange tone lip tint, but sometimes Korean lip colours can be too overwhelming and bright, luckily this lip tint has a natural muted orange tone, which suits me just fine. There's no tingly feeling on my lips nor does it makes my lips dry.

The only downside to this lip tint is it doesn't last that long. After a coffee or two, you're going to need to re-apply again. But if you do not mind that, do give this a try as the colour is really gorgeous. And if you're a big fan of Coco - Cola? Yes you should definitely get this too!

Anna Sui Fantasia

Anna Sui Fantasia was launched in 2017 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Jerome Epinette. The bottle features a majestic looking unicorn on top of a giant golden acorn. It's whimsical and magical, which is the reason why I bought a miniature bottle of it even though Anna Sui has never been my choice of perfume brand in the past due to their perfume short longevity.

  1. Top Notes
    • Pink pomelo,
    • Pink pepper, Cassis
  2. Heart Notes
    • Raspberry Praline,
    • Violet, Orange Flower, Pastel Orchid,
  3. Base notes
    • Golden cypress,
    • Himalayan
    • cedar

  4. The floral bouquet base is offset by undertones of Golden cypress and Himalayan cedar wood, giving Fantasia the aura of an enchanted forest.
  5. Fantasia’s woodsy and floral fragrance conjures up sensuality, femininity, and mystery. Sweet pink pomelo is blended with undertones of spicy pink pepper to create a complex and vibrant mix.

This is a nostalgic scent as it brings me back to my childhood memories. We used to grow Pomelo trees and every time their fruits begin to ripen, our home would be filled with their uplifting and aromatic citrusy scent. I haven't eaten any Pomelo for years, but I do remember the taste of it's pulpy flesh, which I would describe as neither too sweet nor it is sour. The same goes to this scent, it's the perfect balance between sweet and fresh.

It starts off with a burst of citrus-like scent that's fresh and zingy but never too sharp. The raspberry praline adds a sweetness to it but even after a while, Pomelo is still the main star for this scent, steering the scent away from sticky sweet territory. It's very long lasting for an edt, even after shower, there's still faint traces of it's woody drydown that I could pick up from my skin.

If I have known this perfume falls under the floriental genre, I would have gotten it sooner. I have initially thought it to be another fruity floral that's marketed towards a younger crowd.Well now that I'd tried it, I find it to be quite appealing to any age group, irregardless of your opinion towards unicorn 😉

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream

A few weeks back, I'd received a parcel from Gobdigoun, a Korean beauty brand that produces affordable as well as higher-end cosmetic and skincare products. This luxurious looking Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream is the product that they'd sent in exchange for a product review.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream

"Selenium, which is plentiful in goat milk, helps removes pernicious ingredients. Goat milk substance in known to be docile and advantageous to skin thanks to it's biological similarity to breast milk. With it's high moisture content (88%), goat milk provides sufficient hydration, white protein enzyme helps remove dead skin cells on your face.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream aims at :
  • Skin Whitening
  • Skin Nutrition
  • Skin Tone Adjustment
  • Make Up Durability
  • Mitigation Of Minor Skin Traction & Exfoliation

Texture wise, this is a light weight cream that absorbs easily on skin. Titanium Dioxide is listed as one of it's ingredients, which is mainly used in sunscreen that's designed for sensitive skin. Products that contains high level of Titanium Dioxide are known to leave a white cast on skin. In this case, it's white cast does leaves a noticeable, brightening effect on my skin rather than a chalky effect, much to my delight, as I do find it's hard to find Korean cosmetics brand that matches my skin tone.

I rarely wear heavy makeup on normal days as I never feel comfortable with all the layers of products, especially during hot and humid days. CC cream has always been my preferred choice for the day, as it gives a more natural glowing skin effect. With Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Steps Tinted Tone-Up Cream, I find that it's quite sufficient to skip my usual CC Cream.

Applying Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Step Tinted Tone-Up Cream on top of my sunblock gives me an instant natural, healthy glow with an added brightening effect. It stays matte on my skin, which makes it perfect for those with combination and oily skin, as it doesn't feel greasy at all. If you're looking for a mild coverage base makeup, this is a great choice too as it helps to make your makeup last longer.

Over time, I do noticed my complexion seems to appear lighter in tone, thanks to the nourishing effect of goat milk which is well known for it's skin whitening and moisturizing properties.

Gobdigoun Goat Milk First Steps Tinted Tone-Up Cream can be purchase from Gobdigoun physical stores in Myeong-dong, Seoul, South Korea or you can purchase them online from and they will shipped them directly to you from Korea. For more info, do visit :

Lolita Lempicka Fleur Défendue

My favourite fragrance house has always been Lolita Lempicka.  There is something magical in the way their perfume smell, often with masculine vibe hidden behind sweet feminine notes and feminine designed bottles.

Fleur Défendue is a discontinued scent by Lolita Lempicka. The scent was launched in 2008 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Annick Menardo, the talent behind Hypnotic Poison & Bvlgari Black, the smokey rubber and black tea cult hit during the late 90s.

  1. Top Notes
    • Mimosa,
    • Strawberry Leaf, Wormwood, Green Notes
  2. Heart Notes
    • Anise,
    • Peony,
    • Violet, Iris
  3. Base notes
    • Cherry,
    • Almond,
    • Musk

Fleur Défendue, which means Forbidden Flower, is a flanker to the original Lolita Lempicka. I find it to be a little different from the original Lolita, where licorice and smokey hints of tobacco notes lurks behind violets and sweet cherry notes. Fleur Défendue is a little more crisp, a little more green with blends of floral notes that dries down to a powdery, woody scent. It is not as sweet as the original Lolita Lempicka, it is also lighter, with medium projection and lasting power.

As it starts to dry down, the cherry notes becomes more noticeable, though the scent stays close to the skin, making it more of a skin scent. If you find Lolita Lempicka to be too overpowering, you're probably going to love this more, though personally I prefer the original for it's smokey, gothic vibe. The only downside is this had been discontinued for a while, which makes it harder to get on the market. But if you do stumbled upon this, do give it a try!

Mamonde Flower Facial Mask

I love flowers and anything that's floral inspired, but somehow I'd forgotten to try this Mamonde Flower Facial Mask, which has been sitting for too long in my drawer. Mamonde is a Korean beauty brand that mainly uses real flower extracts in their skincare and makeup. The latest addition to their skincare line are these Mamonde Flower Facial Mask, which are available in 4 different types of mask.

1) Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask

This may look like green tea ice cream but it's not, lol. It's the 1st mask that I'd tried out of the 4 Mamonde Flower Facial Mask. Unlike most other clay mask, Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask has a soft citrusy floral scent to it. It's soft and creamy and works well in absorbing excess sebum.

Formulated with eco-friendly ingredients, the Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask is perfect for those with oily skin and large pores. However those with dry skin wil probably find this to be quite drying on their skin.

2) Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask

Suitable for dry and dull skin. This is meant to purify and revitalize skin, giving skin a healthier glow. It's main ingredients includes rose petals, green tea and peppermint extract. Once applied on skin, it reacts with air and gradually starts to foam up, creating these soft, fluffy, bubbles.

Although bubble mask can be seen as quite gimmicky, this actually works as a gentle exfoliator and it purifies skin deeply leaving you with cleaner pores.

3) Mamonde Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask

One of the main ingredient for this sleeping mask is Calendula, known for it's skin soothing properties. Mamonde Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask is made to calm and hydrate skin. Texture wise, it's runny, almost watery, thinner than most of the sleeping mask that I'd tried prior to this. Performance wise, it absorbs quickly on skin, great for those with oily skin as it doesn't feel greasy at all, somehow it reminds me of The Face Shop Rasberry Root Sleeping Mask, though it doesn't work quite as well as it in terms of hydration.

I would probably skip this if you're looking for a heavy duty sleeping mask as it doesn't feel hydrating at all. For me it's a little too light weight to be considered as a good sleeping mask.

4) Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask

Lastly, the Mamonde Enriched Nutri Sleeping Mask. The main ingredients includes evening primrose extract, Camellia Oil and Sunflower Oil, which helps to moisturized dry and bloated skin. Texture wise, it's quite heavy, though it does absorbs fast into the skin. It leaves skin feeling soft and dewy the next morning. This mild floral scented sleeping mask is best on dry or normal skin as it can be a little too heavy on oily skin.

Out of the 4, I find Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask the best suited for my sensitive-combination skin type. But most of all, I love how it adds a little fun to my otherwise normal beauty routine.

Hello Stranger Cafe

Hello Stranger Cafe is an Asian and Western fusion cafe located at The Walk, Riverson. Their menu are largely inspired by Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, with a mix of western style breakfast. The perfect place to celebrate Mazel's early birthday on a Sunday afternoon.

Teriyaki Chicken

My choice of lunch as I love Teriyaki chicken and sunny side up egg, but only the egg white part. I always took out the egg yolk  part and placed it on my friend's plate, sometimes without them knowing, lmao. These chicken slices are quite tender, sweet and savoury.

Chicken Katsu Curry

Irene who just got back from Japan had chosen this menu because apparently her heart is still in Japan, lol. The chicken slices are crispy and the curry are quite tasteful but somehow this menu is lacking something that she can't put her finger on,  sentiments and nostlagia. 😂

Nevertheless it's still quite delicious, the perfect lunch for Japanese curry lovers.

Yakitori Don

The most flavourful out of all the menu that we had chosen. A little salty for my taste but it's the right type of salty-ness for  an authentic Japanese style meal as they love their food a tad bit saltier. The flavour that burst in your mouth shows just how well these pieces of chicken are marinated.

A mix of fried eggs with chicken. Martina's preferred choice of lunch. It's filled with scrambled eggs and chunks of chicken. A simple meal that's quite delicious.

Butter Chicken Banh Mi

This is a Vietnamese style sandwich which consist of french baguette with butter chicken filling. I love the flavourful butter chicken and the fresh lettuce, but the outer crust of the baguette is a little tough for my liking.

Matcha Honey Cream Cake

Even though it's stated as a Matcha Honey Cream Cake, there's little hint of Matcha in it, it's very heavy on honey and it drowns away all the green tea flavour. Cayla who loves everything sweet really likes this but the rest of us were not too fond of it.

There's a book shelf at the end of the cafe, complete with a ladder, along with some cozy looking sofa. I even spotted Diary Of A Wimpy Kid on the shelf, if you haven't read the book series yet you should, because it's strangely hilarious, in a self deprecating way. Anyway it's perfect to browse around these books if you're waiting for a friend or in need of something to pass the time.

Overall we do enjoy ourselves here and the cozy ambience is definitely quite appealing. Hello Stranger Cafe serves no pork on their menu. If you're into Asian and Western fusion cafe, or if you're looking for a cafe that serves Viet Phin or Vietnamese Coffee, this should be on your list of cafe to try.
